Ares Kingdom – The Unburiable Dead (Nuclear War Now, 2015).

This album is all that one would expect from Ares Kingdom: high quality, well-written Death-Thrash with some more epic songs, catchy riffs, and intelligent lyrics. Themed around the First World War, the album opens with the. Continuing through the album, the usual Ares Kingdom flare comes out in full force, helping vividly paint a picture of The Great War. One Stand out track is Demoralize, with the heavy, more mid-paced riffing in the chorus helping accentuate the brilliance of the verses and evoking the artillery bombardment of the lyrics. The title track The Unburiable Dead, starting with its quiet introductory melody, somewhat reminiscent of a music-box, before leading into a mid-paced, somewhat epic yet funereal piece truly brings the lyrics alive and hammers home the message of the sacrifice. Compared to previous Ares Kingdom efforts, this sits easily amongst their earlier albums. Whilst not necessarily possessing some of the same epic feeling of songs such as Descent of Man from Incendiary, it is still a strong Death-Thrash album.
