Adversarial – Death, Endless Nothing and the Black Knife of Nihilism (Dark Descent, 2015).

Adversarial return stronger than ever with their second full length album, with Death, Endless Nothing and the Black Knife of Nihilism being one of the Death Metal highlights of 2015. Spiralling riffs, hyperblasting drums, and the top quality production by guitarist/vocalist C.S. all weave together to create an intoxicating piece of cavernous death metal. Whilst some have criticised the Orwell interlude as being cheesy, I personally believe it works well with the rest of the album given the general tyrannical, all-consuming malevolent atmosphere of the music. Everything about this album has been constructed perfectly to create this nihilistic vortex of audio devastation. The only criticism I have is that the bass drum does not necessarily have the correct sound, lacking some power; however aside from this the album is brilliant. This is tyranny… This is a boot stamping down on the face of humanity.

9/10.
