Vomit Angel – Imprint of Extinction (Iron Bonehead Productions. 2019).

Vomit Angel have returned once again, the drunken harbingers of alcohol fuelled Sadogrind vomiting forth a rotten mix of Blood, Carcass and Beherit in a toxic brew that will bring a smile to your face. One thing that does need to be mentioned right off the bat is that whilst some may consider the lyrics somewhat silly, I honestly don’t mind. This is a fun album that will have you raging and smiling at the same time in a wonderful intoxicating brew of emotions that may be as good as the Vestyfen Classic beer that is hailed throughout the album. Starting off with a sinister intro, the grind madness quickly begins with the fierce Concussion, a short, sharp attack on the senses that prepares you for the upcoming assault. Over the course of just under half an hour you will find yourself bombarded with rotten riffs exhumed from the grave, primitive drumming with lots of cowbell, and pitchshifted vocals that sound like the sewer all produced to good quality, sounding sickening yet being perfectly audible. Also, there are accompanying dog barks on the song Poisoned Dreams and plenty of interesting samples, such as the sound of vomiting for the Untitled sixth track or the sound of defecation on the track Defecation. Whilst a lot of the album is a high-speed Sadogrind assault, there are some more mid-paced songs on the album, such as U.S.G. which sounds absolutely vile and putrid, especially with the Carcass style pitchshifted vocals and where I am somewhat reminded, surprisingly enough, of the Sadomator song Baphomet’s Vomit. Peculiar that I should be reminded of that band… There are some covers on this album, such as a cover of Sadogoat The Sabbath of the Goat and Surprise by Death Maniac, as well as a bonus Sadogoat cover Raped By The Horny Goat, all of which naturally fit perfectly with the original material, considering that the same lineup wrong two of those “covers”. The official ending of the album on the song A Brutal Meeting is a perfect ending, with the putrid song setting the ending up well but also preparing you for the final two bonus cover songs of Surprise and Raped By The Horny Goat. If you enjoy chaotic Sadogrind, this is the perfect album for you as it has killer riffs, swinging rhythms and a putrefied bass that will take you on a wild ride through the unhinged mind of Necrodevil. 8.5/10.
